The construction industry aims to be climate-neutral by 2045 but to achieve this goal, the climate footprint of buildings must be drastically reduced. Demands for energy efficiency and lower climate impact in the construction and property sector are increasing, and more and more property companies are choosing to certify their buildings. 

Environmentally certified buildings are highly attractive, unlocking access to green financing, helping real estate companies meet sustainability goals, strengthening their brand, and contributing to global climate goals.

Certifications also address climate challenges by reducing carbon emissions, conserving resources, and minimizing the environmental impact of construction and operation. However, the current environmental certification process presents significant challenges for property developers, leading to reduced productivity, delays, and cost overruns. This is largely due to the heavy administrative workload involved in certifications, often managed in Excel, and the dependency on external consultants and experts to guide teams through the proces.

We want to develop an AI-driven digital platform (B2B SaaS) for project management of the environmental certification process for buildings. Our mission is to revolutionize the real estate industry through digitalization, advancing sustainable practices in both real estate and construction.

Our AI-powered platform will enable efficient navigation through certification requirements, document management, and collaboration with all parties involved (property developers, environmental certification consultants, and project teams).

Our solution offers quality and productivity improvements at every stage: 
Property developers can reduce the risk of certification failure through enhanced monitoring, improved communication, and cost reduction, resulting in increased profitability. 

Environmental certification consultants can more easily manage the process, focusing more on sustainability consulting rather than administration, leading to increased productivity. 
Project teams (both during design and construction) can collaborate more effectively to ensure progress and prioritize sustainable solutions, enhancing productivity and supporting climate goals. 

With increased transparency and collaboration, all stakeholders can track project progress and make informed decisions. By centralizing all documentation and communication, and automating key parts of the process, the platform minimizes manual handling. By simplifying administration and reducing certification costs, we make sustainable buildings more accessible and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The project aims to enhance the commercial potential of our innovation by developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on our UX/UI prototype for small-scale testing with pilot customers. The expected outcome is to promote wider adoption of digital tools and increase understanding of certification requirements. Through pilot projects with customers in the property sector, we aim to reach potential users and demonstrate the value of our digital solution. This solution will encourage and enable property developers to create more sustainable buildings by streamlining the environmental certification process.

In the first phase, we will focus on developing our AI-powered platform for early-stage project management according to the most comprehensive environmental certification scheme for new construction. The expected effect is an increased knowledge, streamlining and improvement of the environmental certification process for property developers, environmental certification consultants and project members in the construction sector. In the further development phase, we intend to exchange experiences with other projects and possibly integrate other digital tools for construction projects via API with our platform to create even more efficient construction processes. 

Our plan, over time and in different stages, is to offer comprehensive project planning, with a larger portion of the planning process being managed through AI for the entire construction process and all environmental certification systems used, both in Sweden and globally.
