The 17 sustainable development goals set out by the UN in Agenda 2030 are an accurate description of the upcoming challenges, and many of them address built environment issues. Within built environment, there is enormous potential to exploit the opportunities of digitalisation to change structures and work methods, and to contribute to a more sustainable, efficient and profitable built environment.
This is the focus of the Smart Built Environment programme, one of 17 strategic innovation programmes in Sweden. By bringing together stakeholders from the business world, the public sector and academia, we aim to enhance the knowledge and ability of built environment stakeholders with targeted actions in research, development and innovation in order to drive the digital transformation.
In the strategic agenda, we take a closer look at the opportunities of digitalisation, at trends that impact both built environment and digitalisation, and at the prerequisites and needs that underpin the design of the programme’s future calls and other activities.
