In this thematic area, we focus on the value chains of built environment and on finding solutions to the current fragmentation that is frequently cited as the cause of suboptimisation and a lack of incentive to create value for the end product and users.

Value chains, incentives and business-related management models are interconnected and need to be studied and developed in order to harness the power of digitalisation and industrialisation. The area also deals with issues related to stakeholder roles, competencies, approaches and the organisation of projects and processes. This is also linked to procurement and contract law issues in the “Information infrastructure” thematic area.
